Magnus Gjoen

Magnus Gjoen‘s prints examines how to change peoples relationship and preconceived notions of objects. Something which is potentially extremely destructive can be made into beautiful yet fragile objects of art. It’s this misconception of beauty which Magnus Gjoen wants us to see in a different light, being it weapons, animals or the human race itself. []

The Megaton. Massive Bomb Lamp

Written by Valentina on . Posted in design, stuff

bomblamp

“This lamp is made with the tail fins of a 100-lb bomb from the Korean War. Paint and corrosion are removed to expose gleaming steel, interrupted by rough machinists marks from the factory. The interior of the fins retains the original turquoise paint, for a subtle wink of color. Finished with a polished nickel socket, elegant cloth-wrapped cord, and a natural linen shade.” On sale here.

Head Hand Bag

The Head Hand Bag enables its (females) users to experience a sense of victory without the need for violent action. This project explores the ability to translate an object into a story and a story into a product. The biblical story about Judith and Holofernes and its visual representation from the Renaissance were inspiration for the design of the bag.

A project by Yael Mer & Shay Alkalay.

Tipsy Glasses, designed by Loris&Livia:

“They look a bit out of shape, a bit wrong, just like the world around you when you get tipsy!
The original Duralex Picardie glasses (250ml) were put in a kiln at a very high temperature until reaching their melting point. The process resulted in a slow deformation of the glasses caused by gravity while preserving their original identity.”

Possession. The unholy wine collection

possession

Possession, by Daniel Brokstad:

“Possession is a limited edition unholy wine collection, featuring “Evil Demon – Bloody Shiraz”, “Haunting Ghost – Spoory Cabernet” and “Old Witch – Cursed Pinot Noir”. All the wines comes in a solid coffin shaped glossy casing, which adds to the exclusiveness of the wine series. Each are based on different occult themes as satanism, the paranormal and witchcraft. The type design on each bottle reflects it’s theme and was made in a rough way to contrast the otherwise clean setup and design, to give it more of an edgy look.”
